In most modern MMOs, name reservation is a pre-launch window where you can create a character — or just claim a name — before the servers open to everyone. Depending on the region it may come with a pre-order, a founder package, or a free early-creation event.
The details vary, but the consequence never does: the moment the window opens, the popular names start disappearing. This site has no verified data on Aion 2 reservation dates or eligibility for any region, so check your region official announcement rather than a fan page.
How to prepare a shortlist that actually works
- Generate twenty names rather than one, then keep the best three in the favorites panel.
- Rank them: a favourite, a variant that keeps the same sound, and one short fallback.
- Say each name out loud once. If it stumbles when you say it, it will stumble in voice chat.
- Check the letter count on the card — short names are faster to type and less likely to hit a length limit.
- Save the list before the window opens: the favorites panel keeps them on your device between visits.
What to do when the window opens
Have your characters decided before you touch the name field. The fastest path is: enter your first choice, confirm, and fall straight through to choice two if it is rejected. Do not start generating names once the window is open — that is how people lose the name they wanted.
If you are reserving a name for a class you have not settled on, remember that nothing is tied to the class except the sound. Pick the name you would still like in six months.
Reservation mistakes to avoid
- Arriving with a single name in mind and no fallback.
- Choosing a name you cannot type quickly on the keyboard layout you actually use.
- Picking something that reads like a staff, moderator or support account.
- Assuming a rename item will fix a rushed choice later — plan as if it will not.
- Forgetting which faction the name was generated for: Elyos and Asmodian palettes read very differently.
